There are probably only a few vehicles in automotive history that can compete with the Land Rover in terms of cult status. And when it comes to robustness and off-road capability, no one can beat it anyway. For those who had a lot to transport in the terrain, the LWB or 109 version with a long wheelbase was the best choice. The third generation of the British known as Series III was built from 1971 on almost 15 years unchanged.

The Spirit of St. Louis, piloted by Charles A. Lindbergh, made the first non-stop flight between New York and Paris on May 20-21, 1927. Time airborne-33 hours and 30 minutes. Lindbergh took off from Roosevelt Field, Long Island, NY on May 20th with but little sleep the previous night. His aircraft, 1,000 pounds overweight, barely lifted off at the end of the runway missing a telephone pole by a mere 20 feet. Fighting exhaustion most of the time, Lindbergh struggled to keep from falling asleep and at intervals, stuck his head out the window of his plane to refresh himself in the wind-stream. At the end of 28 hours, he sighted the coast of Ireland and for the first time realized that he was on target for his goal, the airfield of Paris, France. While still miles away he sighted the glowing night-lights of Paris. Shortly after, he landed at Le Bourget Airfield to the acclaim of thousands awaiting him on the runway. At that moment, Lindbergh and the Spirit of St. Louis entered aviation’s hall of fame.

Although the original manufacturer of the Aeronca Champion sold their business, their successor the Champion Aircraft Corp. produced many of this widely known personal airplane. Aeronca’s have been a common site on American airports for many years and rival the Piper Cub’s for popularity. Guillow’s scale model of the Champion 85 is designed to faithfully duplicate the many fine characteristics of this flyer.
Description This 1/4 Scale Visible V-8 Engine Plastic Assembly Kit from Revell is the winner of the 2008 Parents Choice Award and Silver Honor - 1995 Doing & Learning Toys. What better way to see how an internal combustion engine works than to be able to see all of the parts move! As you turn the crank, each of the parts move, just like the real thing. The Visible V8 Engine features moving pistons and connecting rods. A hand crank operates the pistons, camshaft rocker arms and valves. The kit includes a rubber fan belt and vinyl ignition wires. Also included is a display stand and screwdriver for construction. A superb educational tool on the inner workings and construction of a V-8 engine! This is a skill level 3 model, recommended for ages 12 and up.
